Carly Anderson was born and raised in Northwest Ohio. She discovered ceramics while attending Bowling Green State University, and began studying wood and soda fired works under John Balistreri. Continuing her passion for the ceramic arts, Carly is currently an artist-in-residence at the Cub Creek Foundation in Appomattox, Virginia. Working at Cub Creek is allowing Carly to explore native clay bodies and continuing to wood fire, studying under John Jessiman. Her work focuses on wheel thrown functional pottery that can be enjoyed for every day use.
